Time Table Rock Stars Competition (13-15th October)
R3-R6 are taking part in the Time Tables Rock Stars Competition from the 13th to the 15th of October.
During October schools are granted a free month's access to the TTRS platform. It is an excellent, engaging website and the children absolutely love it! It is a great chance for children to improve on their tables knowledge early in the school year. I would highly recommend allowing your child to log in and play any chance they get.
Mastering multiplication tables builds a strong mental foundation that frees up working memory for higher-level problem-solving. When children can instantly recall basic math facts, complex concepts like division, fractions and algebra become significantly easier and less intimidating. Ultimately, this baseline fluency boosts speed and accuracy, reducing math anxiety and building long-term confidence.
How does the competition work?
Learners will try to answer as many multiplication and division questions correctly as they can. The winning school and class will be based on the highest average number of correct answers per student.
Rules:
- Every correct answer that a student gives, in any game type, between the hours of 8am to 6pm each day will contribute to their class and school score.
- There is a 30-minute limit playtime per player, per day.
- Each class has a minimum player count of 10. If fewer than 10 in the class play in the competition, their total will be divided by 10 regardless.
But really our only aim in R5&6 this year is to beat Tullykyne School :)
