Halloween Costume Swap, Bake Sale & Monster Raffle!
R5&6's Annual Halloween Costume Swap is happening on Friday, 9th October! Before shopping for new outfits this year, we encourage you to dig out old, gently-used costumes your children have outgrown and swap them for a new costume. Please drop them off at the R5 & R6 classroom any morning next week.
Participating in the swap is a fun way to teach our children the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling, showing them that clothing should never be single-use. Millions of Halloween costumes end up in landfills every year—often after being worn for just a few hours. Roughly 83% of store-bought costumes are made from non-recyclable synthetic plastics (like polyester), which can take up to 200–400 years to decompose in landfills. Swapping and reusing costumes directly cuts down on textile waste, saves money and gives pre-loved outfits a second life.
Thank you for supporting our sustainability efforts and helping us build a greener school community.
Our Bake Sale and Monster Raffle will take place on Friday the 23rd of October. We look forward to a fun Friday as we dress up and celebrate Halloween.
Thank you for your continued support.
